BroVis Wireless Networks announces industry’s first cost-effective and truly “customizable” mesh routing solution
BroVis Wireless Networks, a global developer and manufacturer of Next Generation Broadband Wireless Access Systems announced today the introduction of AS1200-MSH, dual radio Wi-Fi Mesh product, powered by BroadMESHTM routing protocol. AS1200-MSH is the industry’s first cost-effective mesh solution that caters to the needs of Midsize to Large Campus Wi-Fi deployments, Residential Colonies, Integrated Townships, Muni Wi-Fi deployments, and large WISP deployments.
BroadMESH is ideal for rural initiatives where cost effectiveness along with price-performance advantages is important. The mesh solution is truly customizable and adaptive depending upon the user cluster and terrain conditions. External antenna options and multiple power options, provide deployment flexibility in the field. AS1200-MSH can support data, voice and video applications
By announcing the launch, Brovis fuelled the vision of proving cost effective high speed wireless broadband services to the masses. BroadMESH solution comprises of Brovis’ AS1200-MSH mesh nodes, backhaul gateways and gateway controllers.
“The solution will be very compelling for the existing players of its class to rework their current offerings both in terms of price and performance. BroadMESH solution is compact and easy to deploy when compared to similar products in the market. Overheads caused by routing algorithms are minimal in BroadMESH, there by providing simple, reliable and scalable mesh network” says Muthu S Logan, CEO and Founder – Brovis Wireless Networks.
A typical BroadMESH implementation consists of mesh gateway nodes and several mesh nodes surrounding the gateway. The number of mesh nodes needed largely depends on the user cluster and terrain conditions. The mesh gateway will be wired to the internet backbone, while the other mesh nodes obtain the internet backbone wirelessly through the gateway mesh node router. The gateway and the mesh nodes communicate with each other using 5Ghz radio and the local access is provided using 2.4Ghz radio.
BroadMESH provides multiple paths for the data to reach from one end to another, there by providing high redundancy. In the undue event of a node failure, the data is rerouted to another node by-passing the failure node. This self-healing process ensures reliable and resilient network. Mesh deployments can be small in size to start with and can scale up rapidly to any level in no time.
“We asked BroVis to come up with a cost-effective mesh routing solution for deployments in certain regions. They have done just that. BroadMESH is truly disruptive technology” comments S.Kailasanathan, MD- Microsense India Ltd.
BroadMESH provides municipalities and service providers a new, economically compelling solution for high speed wireless broadband access. With substantially lower capital expenditure per square kilometer and significantly lower monthly operating cost per subscriber, Muni Wi-Fi mesh networks can deliver mobile broadband data access at a fraction of cost when compared to conventional cellular data network services.
Apart from high speed broadband access, BroadMESH is ideal for wireless video surveillance, SCADA applications, VoIP telephony, public safety networks and e-governance.
