The Challenge
Dishnet is planning to establish 6000 hotspots country wide – a mammoth task. The challenge for Dishnet is to choose the right wireless equipment vendor, who will satisfy Dishnet’s end-customer requirements. The main criteria was to provide wireless coverage to the entire premises with a cost effective solution. Dishnet found the answer in BroVis Wireless Networks. Since every building/terrain conditions were different from others, Dishnet expected a lot of flexibility in the product/solution offerings. In addition, it has to be scalable but not an over-kill from a solution standpoint.Also, integration with billing solutions, advanced security and QoS - Quality of Service - are equally important for their end customers. Business model for Dishnet was to take care of every need that was projected by their customers and to provide a total wireless infrastructure for the segments that they were targeting.
Solution
Wireless networking is required for a high-raise building -be it a hotel, enterprise building or an apartment complex. The simplest solution is to deploy access points everywhere, but this may not be cost effective.
BroVis’ AC-100 units, mounted on poles, located outside the buildings at strategic points ensured wider coverage and penetration using our TrueEXOR technology working in NLOS condition.
In cases where the distance between the building and poles are limited mounting the wireless unit on a protruding pole can be considered.
